It was a glorious yellow hatch featured in Street Machine mag
back in .... er the early 90's I am guessing?
I think it had a 327? or something similar.
Anyone got any pics of it? or know where it ended up?
Just interested. I remember it being my 'benchmark' back then.

I just went to my old magazine collection and it was the SM cover car in September '90. It was a great looking hatch, unflared with colour coded simmons. It ran a stroked holden v8 out to 325 cubes, top loader and nine inch. It cost him $30K in 1990. I could scan some if you wanted.
Hope this helps,
Buckle

Dont go to too much trouble Buckle, - but I wont say no!!!
I remember it being absolutely 'straight as'.
No front or rear spoiler either?
Didn't it have an odd sun roof too? Electrically operated or something?
And the motor, yes it was stroked, but wasn't it using Ford internals
or a Ford crank or something?
Thanks again Buckle.

He originally tried to get a 383 stroker by using a 272 Y-block ford crank! It nearly worked but he eventually settled for an offset 308 crank for his 325ci.
I'll try to scan some photos and shoot them off tonight.

Maaaan I used to dream about getting mine to that sort of standard.
Pre - wife, kids, mortgage, own business, loans......weight of the world etc.!!!
The sunroof was out of a Mazda yes? I thought that would be a really cool
difference in a hatch. A mate's Dad had a 929 with a sliding electric sun roof,
and it captured my imagination.
Thanks again Buckle!

I remember this car. It was on the cover of september 90 Street Machine. When I was in year 12 ( 1992 ) I met the guy who bought it from Mark Crane through a mate. Here are a couple of pics I took that I have dug out of it. I am sure by this stage he told me it had actually been taken to 383 c.i. instead of 325 c.i. ( holden based )
I remember him taking me for a strap in it. It went pretty well and was manual, with pretty tall diff gears. - Fat Tony.

That one of jenkins was a slug. compared to some of toranas that used to
cruzze the coast 10 or more years ago.he ended up buying slow08 geff rainers silver vk 388 crank/rod combo .this combo pushed geffs vk into low 10s and was one of the fastes N/A 308 in aussi at the time. when rainer was finally beaten
he pulled the engine down removed the crank/rods 388 combo and was planing
a 366 combo so he could gaine another 1000rpm

I am looking for an ad for a fabricated Torana K-Frame that was in Street machine somewhere between 88 and 95. I think it was on the back cover so it would be been before the Eagermanic promotion. If you have time and can find the ad I would appreciate it.
Cheers
