i found a Celica 5 Spd gearbox with housing, clutch, tailshaft and Hydraulic setup....come from a HT Premier....

Now my question is can i just take out the gearbox and get the tailshaft shortened (Cut and Balanced) and place it in my Torana....will it all fit easy....????

The wreckers salesman says Hydraulic is better than mechanical.....

do i need Gearbox Crossmembers or will it fit wioth the HT Gearbox crossmember?

You will need to modify your gearbox crossmember or buy on allready done. You will also need the spigot bush and a speedo cable to suit your car. It should fit easy, plenty of people have done it before.

This thread has a list of what you will need for the conversion.

You could just get the tailshaft shortened, but you may want to check the HT rear uni joint attaches to the diff the same way as the LC/J one does. If not swap the yoke over and get you LC/J Torana tailshaft shortened. Thats why did.

Personaly i would go with a cable clutch, but provided the hydrolic clutch isn't stuffed use that.

I am not sure but i think the HT crossmember will be different to the LC/J one. You can get one from CRS.
