hi, im after some options here, i have a lh torana with a 9 inch, now i was having major problems with traction, or lack off should i say, so rear springs were changed to a soft setup, which slightly helped, but then i had guard scrappage over bumps, noe the suspension shop has some koni rear shocks for about $800 which he said are adjustable for compression and upstroke, ive been searching the net today and found some made by competion engineering in the u.s. which are adjustable 3 ways either 70/30 60/40 50/50 will these help fix the problem, does anyone know or has anyone had the same problem?

i got koni reds for my lj. there only around $300 a pair.

not adjustable up and down, but they are adjustable (soft to stiff). havnt been able to try them yet as the cars in bits but they should work for you, much cheaper to.

clearence the guards or install more appropriate bump stops.
stiffer shock will only give you problems if not matched to the spring.

competion engineering in the u.s. which are adjustable 3 ways either 70/30 60/40 50/50 ?

You need to take these off the car every time you wish to adjust them.
you take them off, unlock them, turn the body, lock them up then refit them.

There is only 3 settings so you only have to take them out 3 times and check each setting and pick which suits your car best. I think there about $40US or even cheaper?

i run just plain old monroe gas shocks in the rear, they work fine and traction is good
you wont get much traction with TAs and a heap of grunt! i hated my old TAs, no traction at all!

I got a set of KYB Gas Adjust shocks for the back of the lj
which sorted the axle tramp and suit the lovells springs nicely
Then i discovered they only make Gas Adjust for the rear
all they offer for the front is their premium oil shocks
Which Have good rebound damping but no compression
damping seems silly backs nice and tight with fronts bouncing
around alright in a woman but not the lj!!

Yesterday I got quoted $116 a pair for the KYB's front and rear for LX V8.
Not sure on the part number but they said there was only 1 type of KYB's for an LX.
