I'm trying to take the tacho out of my GTR Dash, while the dash is still in the car. can it be done? I sorta don't want to take the dash out, coz then I've gotta rewire it all etc etc.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Cheers, RIM

The only way you could take it out of the car with the dash still in is if you removed the firewall! Just write the connections on tape if you need to. You need to remove the dash (disconnect battery first) and unscrew a few things to get the tacho out...

Remove the firewall it is, then!

Nah, the battery is out (has been for months), and the dash is out of the 'hole' where it usuallu sits, but is still connected to all the wires...
