Are the disc brakes the same from the 6 / 8 ?
And is it a big job to put HZ brakes on,is it a matter of removing the stub and disc and caiper as an assemble. are the ball joints the same, will this affect wheel alignment?

6/8 brakes are the same except the V8's got a double diaphragm booster.
Easy to swap them for HQ but you need special steering arms from Harrop with the HQ stubs and you will most definately need a wheel alignment as the torana and HQ stubs have a different KPI - so a fair difference in the number of shims to achieve the same suspension alignment settings.

#2 To install HZ brakes on an LH is as you posted. However, it is advised to use Harrop steering arms ( $297/pair ) to avoid bumpsteer.
#3 Yes.
#4 Camber will be altered by 2 degrees, so an alignment is needed.
