THIS IS ONE FOR THE GTRXUI GURU/ MY FRIEND AS A GTR LC SEP 71 I HAVE KNOWN THIS CARS TWO OWNERS OVER 15 YEARS.. IT CAME FROM THE BRIS ACACIA RIDGE PLANT LONRANGER ORANGE WITH FULL GTR STRIPE PACKAGE HOUNDS TOOTH INT.. THIS CAR HAS FULL XUI OPS WITH SOLID FILLED LOWER CONTROL ARMS. ADJUSTABLE UPPERS BIG TANK BOOSTER ETC,ETC IT HAS IT ALL .BUT HAS ALL GTR TRIM .AND PAINT DO YOU THINK IT MAY BY SPEC ORDER. ANY COMENTS APPRECIATED.THANKS

You could have an ex police car. In NSW (don't know about other states) they were used as pursuit cars by the STP (hwp) in 71-73. The cars looked outwardly like a gtr including grill badge and rear 1/4 badge (lc) but had the xu-1 motor with triple strombergs. The LJ cars had no bobtails or decals but again had the xu-1 running gear. These cars were mostly used in country areas with normal gtr's used in the metro areas. Others may be able to assist with finer points like holes for two way speaker under dash area on n/side. Goodluck I have probably opened a can of worms.

aaaaahhhhh hahaha hahaha.. i wouldnt NEVER have thought the cops used the very cars they were trying to catch,,, lol, well its actually very smart, eh.

Come to think of it there is a large letter C stamped inward on the rear ADRcom plate on firewall could this mean cops car /??it has had us bamboozold.......

Another Urban Myth

I know the codes used for cop vehicles and I can tell you that there were not that many XU1's used by the police force. Actually most cop XU1's were in country areas. 95% of the Torana's used by the police force were GTR's complete with JL engines. The 5% that were XU1's 95% of those were in country areas.
And no the GTR's didnt get secret worked engines in them, my first LJ was an X cop GTR complete with its very stock LJ engine.

Way back then the bulk of cop cars were XA Falcons and Chryslers.

Big booster/ carbs .couldn,t open boot but it,s got a mint big tank and the holes
For the brether pipe seem two be orig/..note the com plates have never be removed

Fiften years a go when the first mate purchessed it Itsell had the orig fuel block air cleaners/ orig paint with all the stripes after 12month. he striped it and had it painted.then sold it un finnished .thats when it went All down hill this IDIOT lost parts put 9inc in it and single rail box stuff it
full of ford rubbish .. Any way lucky a die hard torry mates got it know
shes geting the full rebuild .back to gtr spec but whith xui running gear

With one of my jobs in the past, I pre-delivered many Toranas for the Police.
To the best of my knowledge they did not get the XU1 spec GTRs until 1973.
Making them LJs
Most, if not all of them with the extractor exhuast system.

I've got one of them ^^^, got rear venetians, got under dash parcel tray, got door pull handles, got radio and under dash speaker on board mount, got weather-shield and got locking petrol cap.

Only got a few things to go but I hope to have all of the accessories that were available for the LC but will not necessary fit them to my wee beastie.
