Just want photos of any type of V8 engine in the models of LC or LJ......

i have recently become interested in VN 5L in Torana's but ive only so far seen a few in the LH/LX models......my workmate has a green SLR 5000 with a VN 5L in it and at the Autofest Murray Bridge there was a Blue SLR 5000 with one in it too

photos doesnt have to be 308 V8 engines either but wanna definetely see Street Legal not like Blown burnout car or drag car type of LC/LJ
How much would all this cost just to get the motor into a LC/LJ including engineers reports???

I plan on dropping a 308 into my lc soon but I was wondering if I'd have to do any mods to the trans tunnel if I want to run a v8 trimatic?? Also would it be possible to get shifter linkages from a hk,t,g and keep the shifter on the steering column as mine currently runs a trimatic with the shifter on the column, and I'd sorta like to keep it that way???

Cheers Jugs

No tunnel mods would be needed to fit a trimatic.Only problems would be that if you have to move steering column over then you may have issues with the selector rod touching floorpan/tunnel or & gear selection adjustments, other problem might be trying to find a trimatic that has the shifter on drivers side.Don't know if hk/t/g selector rods would fit as they may be too long but you could probably modify them.

No harm in trying,I wanted to do it on a mate's lc but he ended up getting a commodore trimatic for free, shifter rod goes on passenger side for those.

Cheers for the pics.......just wondering to put a V8 in your engine bay from an average Red Motor.....Do you have to replace the suspension, brakes....Steering needs to be moved???? or any other mods????

or can you just drop it in??? (like its that easy lol)

Ventilated front discs from hoppers stoppers would be recomened, could go HQ vented discs with HQ stubs and brakes, i believe the HQ stuff can effect the suspension geometry so keeps it torana stubs with hoppers stuff would be advisable, other may say different. :spoton:

I pretty much dropped mine in.. Already has lx slotted discs and uc calipers and pulls up great. I also had to get retractable seatbelts. I used the same suspension, hd peddars springs, ride height is the same as 6 cyl was.
