Hi does anyone know who the dealer was for code 511 in oakleigh victoria 1970 as a mate has a lina mint lc xu1 former vic rego number KRK-720

The following is from the website of Garry and Warren Smith who are still a GMH dealer. I doubt if there was more than one dealer in Oakleigh at the time

In February 1969, Garry and Warren Smith became a General Motors-Holden Dealer and took over the long established business of Williams & Sons in Atherton Rd, Oakleigh.

This lina mint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It raced at Bathurst in 1970 and was driven by the girls. Both brocky and Bondy also won races in it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, dont know who dealer 511 is though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this mean we can add Dealer No 511 Garry and Warren Smith, Oakleigh, VIC to the dealer master list? bullitljv8, does your mates car show any signs of a racing past as that No plate looks like it has done a lap or two.

Hi

Garry and Warren Smith replied to my email. They say that they were not dealer 511 in 1970.

As a consequence we cannot add 511 to the master list of dealer codes.

dealer 511 today is paul wakeling holden from camden in nsw ph no is 02 4655 5000 ring them they should be able to help you weather they owned it in 1970 or who the previous owners were i have many dealer codes not all but most i will be happy to help if you need

As I stated I have most of the dealerships. A friend of mine owns 2 dealerships and beteen us over the years we have gathered alot of info on toranas from lc to uc models. By my records dealer number 000511 is paul wakeling Holden Camden 02 4655 5000 I hope this helps you. Some people wanted Garry and Warren Smith in Oakleigh to put in your books for future reference his dealership number is 000445 just use the last 3 digits eg 445 Hope this helps, regards Aldo - I am pretty much 100% certain.

Don't know if this is any help but my old LJ was brought from Rob Morley Motors I think it was,no longer have the Torrie or the books so I can't confirm a number, but it was brought somewhere around Oakleigh in 73,and it wasn't GWS.
