painting "sharp" stripes

I'm painting black stripes down the sides of my LH (similar but not the same as LH SLR) and after my first attempt today have a few questions.
I'm using matte black paint and am doing the stripes similar to LH SLR (top edge along waistline of car and around windows etc), and no blackouts on bonnet etc.
I'm having troubles getting the lines sharp, e.g. there is bleeding through under the masking tape.
Is this justy a matter of getting some good quality masking tape to do the work? The tape I have now is admittedly $2 shit.
I noticed that LH SLR's have 2 stripes down each side - is this very tedious masking and painting or is it a sticker kit?
While I'm on the topic, does anybody have any nice photos of red LH/X with LH blackouts?
Cheers

Speak to your local specialist automotive paint supplier as they should have some on shelf. Ask for "fineline" tape.

Doing black, don't forget to scuff the gloss off your undercoat so the black keys in properly ---> scotch-brite. Just a quick rub to take the gloss off once you've masked up.

Uniquely constructed, vinyl backed tape for outstanding paint line definition. The most flexible and conformable, it provides masking protection for complex curved lines, sharp curves, irregularly shaped panels, over rivets and into seams.
Sounds like the one!
Thanks heaps guys.
For anybody else that might be looking for it, heres a link (its about $20)

I have seen pinstriping tape used as a paint mask on really narrow stripes, this may be easier to apply and remove and give a better finish than masking tape.

Here's a pic of an original SLR, photo from Spotlight on LH-LX Torana.
