The way i understand it is that it's a enduro that goes for 2 days, so the winner is declared on sunday after a total of 500 km. yea i know it is a bit weird eh?I have a question...............
How can a 1st and a 2nd be beaten by someone with just a first???
I mean Todd Kelly won race one and got 2nd in race 2. How come his brother rick won the round by winning race 2 and obviously a result worse than 3rd in race one.
Can some one explain that to me please? What are the point allocations for 1st to 3rd?

Ahh, I see. Although I reckon that a 1st and 2nd should have won it. But hey I don't make the rules. In the Clipsal, the round winner is the winner of the second race, not the points winner from both races.

Totally agree..That rule is almost as good as the fatal reverse grid in the second after race one..Stupid.. Should be on aggregate for the 2 races. So he comes 31st in race 1 then wins race 2 ..he is the weekend winner?. What dumb arse thought that one up?? They never cease to amaze me..just when you thought you had heard it all.Ahh, I see. Although I reckon that a 1st and 2nd should have won it. But hey I don't make the rules. In the Clipsal, the round winner is the winner of the second race, not the points winner from both races.

Take Saturday off. Relax have a spa and watch the race. Sunday go out all refreshed, new car, heaps of new tyres, start from rear of grid and take home the trophy been done before from rear of grid, twice I think from memory, Lowndes and Skaife one each.In the Clipsal, the round winner is the winner of the second race, not the points winner from both races.

I thought you couldn't give a stuff about the Biante cars R?Hope they show the Historics in the future as the support TV races.

Saturdays race is for serries points and they have a podium presentation for it on the Saturday.
Sundays race has always been for the title of the Clipsal 500 winner.
Some of the team owners and sponsers would have been very disapointed with the coverage over the two days as a few of the cars got next to little or no air time at all. The one thing ten did do well was give some exposure to all the cars/teams regardless of their track position which is very important for attracting/keeping sponsors.

Also if you did not race saturday you could not win, even if you came first on Sunday because you have to complete 500 km's to win it.
Which is interesting because the drivers who DNF on day one seem to hold their placings at the end of day 2 so ????
And for the sake of the championship Todd is the leader because points wise he won the round just not the silverware.....

nah i don't believe so, the Queensland raceway track use to be a enduro, but i think Adelaide has always been a two day race.Wasn't it originally one 500km race that because of the time of year (heat) it was divided into 2 x 250 sections????
