got a harness for the old girl but the eye bolts that came with it don't suit.

rang rev racegear and they reckon they dont have a bolt for a torana.

has anyone found an easy solution for this? should i be able to get an eye bolt from a bolt shop, or do i need to fab up a bracket?

I bought eye bolts from revolution...20mm long threads and 45mm long threads.
They threaded into the original belt bolt holes in my lj.

You can't mount a harness of the original seat points anyway
Theres proper angles to take into consideration so you don't crush your spine in an accident

Or am I missing something here

4 point harness, bottom 2 in original holes. top straps go to lower rear holes (crossed over)

it looks like the bolts are 1/2" unc. rev race and everyone else only has the 7/16" unf.

i can get forged eyebolts to suit from a crane joint.

A road application, which is going to be a compromise.

In a proper set up these days they recommend connection to the horizontal bar on the main hoop to minimise length and flex in the straps, recommended range is between horizontal and 30 degrees from your shoulder height for the top straps running back.

With only a 4 point, it ain't going to stop you submarining anyways. In a street car, I call fitting a harness as false sense of security, spose just so it looks good, fast, or whatever!!!

The ideal companion for these are race styled seats that you pay a fortune for that are not certified to the Australian Standard.

I'm dragging this thread up to see if anyone managed to find a supplier of UNC eyebolts for fitting harnesses to LH/LX Toranas? I've also found that so far all I can get is 7/16UNF bolts. Any ideas :spoton:

If your in Melb? there is a place on the Hume Hwy in Campbellfield near Barry's rd I think that deals in lifting gear e.g. chains and slings e.t.c.
