you may as well asked how long a pube is mate....
assuming it's stock, stick wtih the standard stromberg or shove on a ww2 stromberg. don't go wanking around with holleys and shit, wont' work. if it's modded, thast a new pandoras box.

Good balance of performance & economy.
My engine has a decent cam & exhaust.
I had a 350 Holley on mine & went reasonably well once it was set up properly.
You can pick 'em up on a manifold for under $150.
I've changed to triple SU's now & thats another kettle of fish.
If you can set them up for under $500 you're doing well.

But they needed a total overhaul which I did myself.
Not too much money was needed to overhaul but a hell of a lot of time went into them.
But now that I've tuned 'em properly, going for a drive in the LJ is almost as good as sex.
If you like tinkering & the budget allows, go triples.
My SU's have done about 1000 km's now & haven't gone out of tune (it's a weekend car)
I was told by quite a few people that the SU's held their tune better than cd Strombergs & it looks like they were right. They're a very simple carby so they don't take long to understand.

These run at about 270-290 on the Primaries, until you put the boot in, when the secondaries open.
Quite economical if you can keep your foot off the gas, but its there if you want it.
Grant..

It took a lot of mucking around with jets and needles, but once those secondaries open it was like train...
fuel economy was really something else, rather expensive
