I know this is a torry forum but thought id put a link to my EH.

http://forum.ejehclu...p?TOPIC_ID=2892

Its driving, needs a few things put back in before I get a safety cert but that's not too far off. Needs the front lowered a little more too but will wait to see if it drops after driving for a month or so.

Its taken me a couple years so far but its getting there.

Hopefully get it all finished in the next few weeks then it'l just need a good polish and detail.

Limo, I know of an EH with a 283 sbc with the extractors through the guards too, which was just over the border from Mt. Gambier. Maybe it's the same car??
Was the 1 you saw green?
I knew the owner but haven't seen him for years and don't even know if he still has the car.

Yeah the extractors are a tight fit. Directed the front pipes over and under the mounts for better flow, its a really tight bend to go straight down, and now im able to get to every plug and starter without having to take them off. Plus the through guards extractors would restrict steering.

There are heaps of V8 EHs round with the through the guards extractors but I dont like the look of the big hole. CRS make them up and they are pretty cheap too.

3 cheers everyone for this bloke!!!!! The pipes look fantastic!!! So good to see pipes like that.... 95% of the EH's you see these days with a V8 have the huge holes cut in their inner gaurds with the fender-exit style pipes you mentioned.. I think these look excellent! So well done mate, very refreshing to see!

How is the HPC coating lasting so far? Mine have slowly dulled off, yours look mint in the pics still... I'd be interested to know if they end up fading off too...

I'm off to go and have a good read through your info... thanks for posting the link!

I have actually only driven it once so far so the pipes still look nice and shiny. But will have a wait a few months and see what a bit more driving will do. It gets pretty hot under the bonnet.

I'll take a few more photos over the wknd and post them up through photobucket now I have finally registered with them. They should be a bit cleaner. Not that it is going to be a show car anyway. But will make a good street cruiser, with a little bit of power too hopefully.

Sweet pipes.
I like where you put the trans cooler with the protective guard, might use that idea for an engine cooler.

Thanks guys!

Yeah everything takes time. Ive had this EH for 4 years now. Bought it when I was 19 from an old lady who hadnt driven it for about 10yrs coz her knees were stuffed and couldnt push the clutch in anymore. Was just sitting under her house and a mechanic mate of mine spotted it and let me know. All original and totally rust free!

I had it sitting for about 2 years before I had enough $$$ to start it and was jsut going to do up a hot 6 for it but then another mate told me about a chev for sale for $1000 and thought I may as well go for it.

So a couple more years down the track and a shit load of cash later its looking heaps better.

Should go pretty well!!

Here's a brief on whats been done.

Motor: mild 350 chev, 010 2 bolt block, double hump fuellie heads(ported heaps), mild cam, weiand manifold and holley 750 vac sec carb, mallory fuel pump(ran a 12.6 in an LH torry and now has slightly bigger cam and better ignition)
Ignition: Mallory unilite dissy, Mallory Hifire 6A box, Mallory coil
Gearbox: Turbo 400 gearbox, stage 2 shift kit, B&M pro ratchet shifter, have a turbo 700 convertor that has been modified to fit a T400 2500 stall
Diff: 9" diff with 3.55 lsd
Wheels: Centerline 5 spoke billet 15"x7"
Brakes: Front HQ disc and rotors on HR drum stubs
Rear Ford discs and calipers
Radiator: HQ with a shortened core, twin thermos (hopefully this will cool it enough other wise i'l have to come up with something else)

Have 2 brake boosters and battery now in the boot

Body and front cross member have been strengthened

Lowered 3" all round, but will lower the front another 1/2" if it doesnt settle down a bit
