Hi,

Just wanted to know, what are best thermo fans to put on an lx torana without butchering the inner guards?

are AU falcon ones the best?

what mods are involved in fitting them?

any help greatly appreciated,

Cheers

The "original" EL fans were Bosch...though Ford may have used other suppliers later on, afik, the specs of the fans remain the same....some shroud changes through the models

AU fans are awsome, and its possible to fit them without trimming any metal. and they seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper.......got mine for $80 genuine ford, from a wrecker (mind you pick 'n' pay less, wanted $200, f$%king dreamers, think ford sells them new for about the $230 mark, dont quote me on that tho)

cheers

Yep that's what I measured as well brett, or a near as dammit. Mine are genuine fans too if that helps.

I run the fans as two separate circuits in case a relay or something fails I still have some cooling at least on one side.

From the factory AU's had a single 60amp fuse, and the fans rarely if at all ran at full speed.

^^^^^looks good,or,get a sender of required temp soldered in the radiator or get a sender soldered into a peice of brass pipe and slice it into your top hose. All good reliable ways of switching fans besides those poxy davies craig junk.Do they make any thing good??

Had a look at the link for the device, not sure its suitable for cars without an ECU. It mentions the ecu being connected to the temp sender and that the device will look for a voltage of 0-5V, but these will be higher if running direct to a normal torrie temp gauge. What does the kit(not assembled) cost.
