When was that advertized? And whats the light weight crap about?
John
I'm sure RED will clarify, my understanding was they were specially made by holden and they used lighter guage metal to press the body and guards, making it lighter. They were so light that just leaning on the guards could bend them!

I was talking to Steve (Mason) about that a few weeks back.one of the car dealers in newcastle ( steve mason ) has a 253 twin tubo hatch many years a go and sold it to someone down south. he found out later it was a ex le mans or someting like that.
He sold it really cheap then found out later what it was and tried
to buy it back off the bloke but with no luck!!
I will find out if he knows who owns it now.

That photo appears to be of the LH Repco V8 'Beast MkIII' Sports Sedan, which is currently being restored and hopefully will be at this years AMCM.
Also Bob Jane had 2 'light-weight' A9X's made for Sports Sedan racing, but bought and raced the Monza instead. One of the bodies was used for 'Pete' Geoghegan in '77-'78 for Bathurst and ATCC. They were so light it only required 2 people to carry the shell around.

correct red ,, complete with wind splits,, i so druuuel over that beast every time im therethe two cars that were meant to be raced at Le mans are still around, one is an orange hatch in Canberra, the other became Jansons 79 bathurst car. I think the one you are talking about in Birdwood is the factory aquarious car that belonged to a Holden designer, it was never a race car, it's a factory production car, and the only one in that colour.
