The L/H rail is bent between the bumper and the "X" member and also between the "X" member and the floor.
The "X" member may also be bent?
The floor/firewall is bent where the L/H rail welds on.

I had started to tidy up the body for a full respray over the spring period as it had only had touch-ups the first time around. Hence the undercoat door.

Boy's car was written off this morning.
30yr old female did a U turn across his front without looking.
He is O.K.
Pics tomorrow.

That looks pretty nasty Rob, glad your son is ok.

Pity about the car however.

The tyres are Hankook 866 205/60/13, about 6 months old.
No structural damage? Is this structural?

Note to self, Dont use them tyres

There is nothing wrong with the tyres. He didn't even get a chance to brake. The woman (aussie) fessed up to the cops that she simply didn't look.

It was one of those newer high floor Corollas. I have read somewhere that they raised the height of the floor on the Corolla's and Camry's for increased side impact protection.

I haven't seen the Corolla but Boy rekons the Torana came off second best.

yeah the only problem your young bloke is going to have now is the insurance companies evaluation of the UC. I wouldnt be too surprised if it was only $1000. The pricks have no clue.

Any reason for not using those tyres?

Its getting to be slim pickings in 205/60R13. I have a set of them on the rear, since Sumitomo no longer do 205/60R13.

I think Market value for most stocky Toranas is like $1200 - 1500. Not that you could replace them for that much. :furious:

Sorry to hear all this Rob. But your lad is OK.

All that work!! But you do it cause you love it/love him.

Does he have a buy it back clause if its a write off?
Might get the thing back on the road.
Everything from the fire wall back is OK?
