I need some front wheel arches to replace in some flared front guards. Are 4 cyl and 6cyl the same?
Thanks in advance,
Bones

What model?
LH onwards yes but before LH I would say no as the guards were different for 4 cyl.

sorry i assumed he was talking bout LH forward, but LC LJ have shorter fronts then the 6 cylinders, BUT i would think the actual arch would be the same just not the whole gaurd.

I realise that the guards are shorter overall for the 4 cyl, but I am only interested in the wheel arch section, about 50 to 100mm around the radius of the wheel opening.
I would have put my question in the LH/LX section if it was a LH/LX, but then again I wouldn't want to do a wheel arch replacement on a bolt on guard. Maybe I should have said LC/TA/LJ. There maybe a hint of sarcasm there, but it does seem very easy to be misunderstood in a forum.
Bones.

Hi Bones.

I'm pretty sure the actual front arches themselves on 4 cyl HB/LC/LJ/TA Toranas are smaller than the LC/LJ 6.

you could be right there jap-xu1.

personally i wouldnt do a guard arch.

the area is very big which needs fully welding, which in turn will shrink the panel dramatically even if you try cooling it as you go.

go for unpicking the guards, its well worth the effort

i unpicked both guards plus front apron in one piece, they virtually slip straight off the donor and onto your car.
