Hi
This might be a silly question, but what is bump steer.
I have just brought an lh slr. I have converted the front stubs to hq and am running the lh steering arm. I am also useing pbr alloy calipers. I haven't driven the car yet as it is not registed. I am going to use the car on the street, tarmac rallies and sprint sessions on track days. I hopeing to fix any geometry problems before i register it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

It is to do with when you hit bumps the car steers in the direction of the bump. Usually caused by incorrect toe-in in my experience.

Can also be caused by dubious front end conversions where the the tie rod arms are not parallel to the ground. When a front wheel hits a bump the arc travelled by the tie rod arm causes the wheel to 'self' steer.

Thanks Rodomo. That certainly answered my question
What is the easiest way to fix the problem. Would it be better if i was useing a UC steering arm.

Ideally A9X or L34 steering arms, not sure on the UC ones. I think Harrop make a A9x repro steering arm.

The Harrop A9X repro arms are your friends if you have HQ stubs.
UC ones are better than LX but not as good as the A9X ones.
