Just when I thought I had it worked out.
eg. An 8" rim with 4" backspace would have a 0mm offset right?
A company in the USA has 8" rims 4.5" Backspace but measuring 0mm offset, does this mean they are measuring the lip to gain the extra 1/2".
As if I send thru my measurements under my means of measuring I have a feeling my rims will be come over and be 1/2" closer to the guard and they will protrude.
Another offset measuring question, is USA differen

#2 This appears to be the case.
The obvious problem that arises with the Yankee backspace system, is it doesn't take into account rims that have different thickness in the bead. This then makes it hard to compare apples with apples.
