I wouldn't recommend this set up .
If your looking for a reliable electronic dissy for a mild engine that's not going to get revved 6000rpm then I'd recommend a factory hei dissy, they come with the coil in the cap and require only one posative wire attached to hook them up (plus another wire for a tacho if your running one )
very simple and very reliable set up, I've used heaps of them, they are cheap too, about $100 to $150 for a complete secondhand dissy with the cap.
only issue may be space in the engine bay up against the fire wall if its in a torana, if its in a HQ then there's no problem with room

There were other "HEI" dissys on there for <$100 new, some labled 'Procomp' others just 'HEI' but looked almost exactly the same!
<edit> HQ, lots of room .
<edit2> or this seems to be the same as above but cheaper ?!?

yes thats the type I mean, I'm not sure how good either of those 2 you've found on ebay are, if they are what they claim to be then then I can't see a problem. So just to clear things up, we are talking about this item.

basicaly, only run brand name gear if you wanna get serious. persoaly i only use msd gear, but craine fireball stuff is supposed to be ok
msd gear may be expensive, but you will only buy it once.
