Hi all


I bought this 5 litre LX brand new from Ballan Holden in Werribee Vic in 1977 (pre RTS) complete with Starsky and Hutch paint job. I had traded an LC GTR and an Escort Van. If I recall correctly it cost $7000 less trade-ins. The mags came later and, for the life of me, I can't remember what happened to the original wheels and trims. It was on-sold to someone in the Albury NSW area.

I don't know how much he was asking. That car had a very hard life. When it was fairly new it run up the back of a truck, and it threw a leg out the side. A mate of mine bought it from the guy selling it there. He had it for a while and fell asleep at the wheel cleaning up a bridge down one side in the early 90's. It was repaired and sold, it went West NSW again. The new owner rang my mate a while later telling him how good the car was and how it was one of a few that was supposed to have "factory fitted Webers" hahaha.

You forgot to post a pic of the "blow fly" :spoton:
As for Jim Muscat's OZ 5000. Jim sold the hatch around 10-12 years ago and I believe it went to Townsville.... He still kept the OZ 4200 van for a while but then his health deteriorated to the point where he had to hand in his licence.
Always wondered what happened to the LC GTR with the 350 stroker in it was white with a full width drop tank.. any ideas...

Hi Greg,

Warwick the postie was the guy with the 350 LC GTR, from memory he lived out Windsor way?

I remember when he built that car, must have been 1985/86 or so??

Were you in the club as well? I am trying to place you but unfortunately can't do so. At the recent NSW Torana Nationals I bumped into Darren and Anita, they were in the club and had an orange then painted yellow hatchback. Now into F*(ds.

You would also remember Barry Smith, he owned the A9X. Only paid $4K for it when it was about 8 years old. Ended up a very nice car.

Sad to hear about Jim, hope all is OK for him now.

LoneOranger - was one of your pics taken at Kangaroo Valley by any chance? I remember driving that road as a kid, even used it as a through-road to the Hume Hwy on my Townsville to Melbourne trip last October! Such a lovely road - shame about the other traffic!
