Does any one know or have any pics of the correct radiator shroud for an lc xu1. I think thet are different from the lj xu1?. Is the lina mint xu1 featured in the last issue of amc may be the corrrect one perhaps?

Hi 71xu1

All the 6 cylinder LC and LJ Toranas had the same flat fan guard as pictured in AMC. The important thing however is that the correct part number is stamped on the guard. Someone with an LC parts manual should be able to post the correct number.

I have seen man yLJ XU-1s with a "period correct" fan guard but incorrect part number.

Is it bad that I don't have one on my 6cyl 4 door LC?

Hi Guys.

Technically it is bad, AFAIK it's a finger guard, to stop peoples' fingers getting cut up by the rotating fan blades, if you're turning the radiator cap with the motor running.

Hi Guys.

That radiator is unique to the EH 179. The EH 149 is narrower & similar to an EJ radiator.
