Ok, I have a short memory, can someone please comfirm for me that the steering arm part numbers off the passenger side (thats what I've taken both these from)
are AF1 GM7249 for the UC arm, and AF1 GM8329 for the LX one.

I'm pretty sure I'm right, but may have mixed them up!!

Thanks in advance!!

Passenger side steering arm for LX is part number 9928329. A9X part number is 92001893. Sorry, don't know the UC part numbers. The numbers you quoted are the actual numbers cast (or should that be forged??) into the part, which are slightly different to the parts book numbers. The last four digits correspond though.

If you line the UC and the LX one up bolt hole to bolt hole, the UC one will be slightly lower at the tie rod end hole, and the hole is angled in a little (the front of the steering arm is twisted inwards slightly), when compared to the UC one.

The reason 355LX (Dave) has posted here is to try and help me nut out what I have on the front of my HQ braked LH. After some investigation / comparison of dimensions Dave gave me of his two steering arms, I have discovered that mine carries different dimensions & cast numbers.

The number cast on it is GM5249

Does anybody know what these are off?
Thanks in advance

I was half asking to help out LHracer, and half to help myself out, because I had changed them a good while ago, and was only 90% sure which was which. Thanks very much for the confirmation guys, legends!!!

Keep harrassing him Datto, he'll crumble eventually

PS: i think your steering arms are A9X, where's Red to confirm......

No need for crumbling
Just wrap it up nice
Get down to busfreight and send it
I'll send him a sensible (in my opinion) amount for it.......lol

As posted, A9X part number is 92001893. I wouldn't mind a box full of A9X steering arms to turn up in my lap

I have the Holden UC Torana/Holden Sunbird parts catalogue book that used to be under the counter of Preston Motors Holden Parts many years ago.

In this book the part numbers for the UC steering arms are 9947249 LH & 9947248 RH.
These are the same as the LX ones.
However my UC parts catalogue also states later revision arms and the part numbers for these are 9928329 LH & 9928328 RH.

I have a pair of LX arms 9947249 & 9947248 which also have AF1 cast on them as well as a pair of later UC arms 9928329 & 9928328 which have AF2 cast.
These later UC arms are shorter than the LX/earlyUC as show in the pictures below.
