A mate of mine has been telling me how good his volvo stops. On the front he has 4 piston calipers and the discs have the same stud pattern as early holden. My question is... how hard is it to convert to volvo brakes (front) and is it worth it?. The brakes would be off a 240 model which i think is early 80's. I can get the discs and calipers practically for free. If the settup was accomplished how much of an affect would it have? would there be a big difference concidering they are 4 piston calipers?
cheers

It used to be a popular conversion. I'm not sure what calipers would be the best to obtain. dattoman has spoken of this conversion before. I saw an LH at the wreckers once with the volvo calipers on LH discs. I'd just upgraded my LX to VK 4 wheel discs, so I didn't pay too much attention.

Volvo = Slow way to get to the bowling club
Torana = Performance car
I don't recommend it but it can be done
And no I won't tell you how to do it

LOLLL ok then wats the best modification to do on the front brakes of an lx torana for a big differnce in braking ability. A cheap option using standard holden parts and keeping it torana stud pattern
