Rory, don't forget, 37kw and 50Nm(?), better suspension and a horn body kit. I'm sure the HSV dealers would cut you a deal to make it more worthwhile.

Your not going to believe this,

I had a 283 chev powered LX in 80/81 that was painted exactly like that.

Looking for photo now!

James..The 37KW is easy attained..exhaust..also to be done takes it to 297kw.. the other ten I can get plus more with an Edit. The body kits side by side are bugger all different. And I would need a lot of convincing the susp is worth $16k.

14mm studs on VE
12mm on earlier commys VB-VZ

I believe they are the same 5x120 pattern though

The shallow offset of the disc makes life hard though

yeah i was aware of that, what i meant was that if i went to the new commo (VE pattern) on the roana i wud just find a VE, replace wheels with blocks
and torana would have new rims!

would be massive!

I reckon the factory stripes are too small, you need them a bit bigger IMHO

I can't wait to hear what you think of the SSV , point it up your favourite mountain road and enjoy that 6 litre 6 speed, not to mention the improved VE handling and braking and the steering wheel feels like its actually connected to the wheels. My VE is only a beggars model, but compared to the VZ it hangs onto the road so much better and the brakes are very good for factory brakes.
Believe it or not I actually like the V6, you can really give it heaps without spending half your time on the brakes, on a tight windy road it has plenty of go.

Did you see the TV show about the development of the VE (billion dollar baby)? I love the video clip at Phillip Island where the guy has smoke pouring off the tyres going around turn one from memory.

I'm with you Mick. Looks like my company is hanging off for the wagon.

That's what I'll be getting. Have only heard good things.

micklx i have to agree... my old boy just got the omega and it is so much better to drive than old girls vy sv8.... its incredible to drive the only things i would change would be the massive blindspots up front and the alloytech is a tad noisy... back on subject though i love the stripes on the SS's and i think your idea of orange on cilver will look tops!!

there are two new colours availiable now on VE that you should check out

"Atomic" like the ford green "toxic" but with less yellow through it, looks beautiful

"voodoo" new blue like ford blueprint, but nicer

Maybe check them out before making a decision

Cheers

Will check it out loui...thought they would hold off until series 2..but think the Ford colours are hurting them so we might see them sooner.

P.S. Not on the GMH website Loui..
