Much better doing it yourself or getting it done properly by a auto fab place.
The guy that fabed mine said he has cars doing 4ft wheel stands 1000Hp with what i Had done and never any problems, also improves handling quite a bit 2.
cheers youngy

From what I can see the mod above connects the lower trailing arm mount to the chassis rail which effectively reinforces the trailing arm mount. I can see that this would increase the bending strength of the vehicle but I can not see how it would increase the torsional strength.
The CRS LH-LX kit runs from the lower trailing arm, bolts to the chassis rail using the gearbox crossmember bolts, then bolts to the K-frame mount then about 300 mm up the chassis rail. It is then cross braced by the stronger gearbox crossmember (not shown). The CRS kit does not intrude into the rear seat footwell.

So bending stress is like bending the vehicle about the centre?
and
torsional stress is like twisting the chassi??

How heavy is the CRS kit anyway?
From memory it was $825...

How much would you pay for one (I know there are some on Ebay).
Should I bolt/Weld it in. And the rear connection points seem to stop on the parcel shelf...is that strong enough?

Adam..If you mean by the front end kit...the bars that weld into the front arms..I have a set you can have, I had genuine XU1 front arms so didnt use them. The Lj chassis kit is $930 which includes the front end kit too.

I have welded my cage in the L34..now I have to drill bolts in it because thats what Qld Trans wants to see..go figger. James anything is a help...just do it..Also is it worth putting a 4 Point Steel/Alloy roll cage into my LJ?

On the note about the lower control arm "brace" (not the metal rods the good ones Rory is always raving about) - where can you get them? I've searched on Ebay to no avail, does the "guy" still make them or what?

Yeah me too but you need to know we have taken a 60% increase hit in the building industry on steel over the last 18 months..China is taking it all..not making excuses for them but the numbers sort of fit.$930 for the chassis kit ? i paid $550 18 months ago

Mine, hehe. I've already got the XU-1 reinforced lower control arms in mine but I wanted the crossmember to radius arm strengthening brackets as they crack badly on the radius arm at that junction. The only other piece missing from that front end kit is the plate that you weld over the bottom of the crossmember. I bought my body bracing and front end strengthening kit for $600 about 3.5 years ago. At the time I spoke to Rod Hadfield and he said the crossmember plate doesn't do anything at all strength wise, its purely cosmetic to cover up any marks from when the car has been jacked up and left impressions in the bottom of the crossmember in the past. I still have the delivery docket for the kit and all up it weighs 25kgs.More bits.

Yep, mine too. Was anyone from here bidding on it in the end? Jacked up the price on me. Its still cheaper than new from CRS and has some extras included too. There is another set of CRS chassis rails on Ebay at the moment.
