hi, is there meant to be a spring or someting on the rod through the dash that releases the foot brake on a lh or not, mine just has the rod but it doesnt seem right?????????

On mine it springs back when you release it. So I assume there's some kinda spring setup but I've never got my head under there and looked for it.

theres a spring from the rod, to the square tab( below the rod end,) on the bracket assembly
