Cool Mark, i thought it would of had a different owner by now, whats the Tassy Connection with your A9X ?????
only Racing A9X Hatch that i know that was in Tassy, was Garth Wigston Roadways A9X Hatch

Hi the guy i bought it off was living in Tas at the time but has since moved to Qld. The car saw some road use in Vic before going south and i still have the plate that is in the photo.

I believe that at one stage the Hatch was also owned by A9X Club of Australia's Tasmanian State Secretary, Leigh Harvey.

I remember him showing me that very magazine article at his house when I took him for a spin in my L34.

Yes now i know the car. After Gene Cook it was owned by Brian Potts in sydney, we are in the same factory complex. Brian removed the steel gaurds a put a full fiberglass front on it. Don't know where it went when Brian sold it but could find out. Brian found out that was the 1st or 2nd production gtr and was won by Judith Durham of the Seekers before it became a race car

That metallic green l34 that was mentioned earlier in this disscussion, was that refering to a Monterey green l34?
If so the Monterey l34 i currently own,(according to its previous owner)said that he had brought it from a guy over in Tassie.
It maybe that car, as i understand there wern,t a lot made in this colour.
My car does not have the sill panels painted black, as the one in the previous photos has.(Assuming that was the metallic green car that Les was refering to.) ???

xu2308 yes it sounded very good, driving it about everyday was hard on the ears, but loved every minute of it, booked for excess noise once in 13 years of daily driving the streets. did get some abuse from neighbours, and it mucked up tele reception driving past,.

PJs was a tough beast, and a bloke here had a slr5000( black one) that had a john brookfield 3 inch exhaust and side pipe on it that was really a 308 at its best too
. the white l34 above was also very nice to listen too a 3"side piped street car, wonder how long we would last nowdays?.

yeah i worked with PJ on the Hydro in the Carpenter shop, and he had a Black SLR5000 with a hot donk back in the 1980's, then i moved from the carpenters shop
to the Kitchens, where i came across the Chef with the Barbados Green L34 later on.
PJ used to take that Black SLR5000 to tarmac back in them days, he sold it and bought a 308 V8 Red HJ or HX Statesman

I rang a mate up, i was wrong it wasent Yellow, it was a Orange Colour, abit like Lone o Ranger Orange but abit darker, he thinks it had
BMW type front seats, i thought it had Race Seats in it.
Lee Wallace owned it here in Late 1980's say 1988-1989 or early 1990's etc, so it might be the White Car that is Orange now
