This is the one you had to put the original guards back into too isn't it? Weren't they flared or similar?

I think this is that car, quite a job I bet, if this is the one, you pulled it off nicely HSV484!

Looks like you've put some serious time into the bodywork, is this the one that is being painted Gunmetal or am I thinking of another car?

yes it is a gtr and the gaurds had been hacked away to fit a9x flares other photos further on in forum
engine specs as follows
202 plus 40thou
steel crank
xu1 hinged sump
hi vol oil pump
7500 rpm balancer
gilmer pulleys
hm headers now thermal coated
triple 45 mm webers polished
186 12 port head huge valves ported and polished
block releived to clear valves
head converted to run ulp
ballanced
starfire rods
acl 10.1 flattops
roller rockers
solid cam(bathurst xu1 spec)with roller followers
lightened flywheel
electronic ignition
3 core polished alloy radiator
approx $7000 in ealrs braid still to go on to
paint and body
body has now been file finished
Colour will be Gunmetal Metalic underbody and eng bay in 2 pack springs and shocks Anodise blue as are calipers and about 3500 in chrome bits and peices
Block has been deburred and 2 packed in GMH red
and had in excess of 350 manhrs spent on it and is going to be painted in 2 weeks
Interior
Retrimmed in original long grain with GTR embridered in headrests
new door trims and all glass replaced only parts on the entire car that have not been replaced are the 2 outer door handles all body panels repaired not replaced gaurds etc
full length console
new carpet and dash pads
Pioneer stereo and dvd
General
Every bolt on the car is Chrome allen headed bolts (only need 3 allen sockets to strip car)
Wiring being ran down inside of chassis rail no wiring will be seen
False stainless firewall
Left chassis rail to have 2 wiring plugs to suit 6 or v8 just plugin when ready
Chassis reinforcement kit
Hyrdralic clutch

WOW, that is so ridiculously cool. I don't even want to imagine how much this rebuild is costing you but my god is this car going to be awesome!

hi so it's a gtr huh....... i cant see the under window chrome lugs.....???????
do yuo have a close up of the flute's as well?

not sure if these are the lugs your talking about but if they are i ground them off in order to fit new ones as they can still be purchased

Yer these GTR are geting long in the tooth as everybody knows

You cant,t expect them to still have all of the spot welded lugs still

intact.. because of rust and panel replacenent.etc.

My gtr had left hand door skin fited a one stage of it,s life

No lugs, there were screws holding the chrome on there.

you can get a welder that puts them back on though/

most p/b have em still

Easier way is to get some special rivets from a company called WURTH when you clamp the rivet and the shaft breaks off it leaves a shoulder for the plastic clip to slid under they also sell the clips as they supply panel beaters with them.
They also sell all the clips and plastic cups for door trims etc
