Springs were V8, front end changed to UC. I was told it would drop once all panels, radiator etc went back in. WELL she is stayin on tippee toes. But I wont have a scraping issue.
I am seriously thinking of gettin some nobbly tyres and go hill climbing.
On top of that, the air cleaner hits the bonnet
front
rear

# torrie engine mounts
# used springs
The motor sits very low in the engine bay, lots of clearance below heater box.
Gone from 6cyl column auto, to 8cyl column auto.

My LH sat pretty high on one side and it was just that the spring was not sitting completely in the correct place in the cross member.
Otherwise, you may have been sold the wrong springs.
As bomber says, don't cut them, buy lower ones. I beleive that cut springs are a defectable offence here in SA, if not the whole country.

You need one where the base plate drapes over your carby. This will allow you to run large filters without problems. My old 4door had a massive thick/high air filter with no hole in the bonet and cleared no probs.
I have attached a photo of the engine in the old hatch to show how the carby is hardly visable with the drape over base plate.
