hi, we finaly got our lc at the strip last weekend and it was rained out but we got invited to come back on sunday so we did there was no timing gear but we did do 3 passes with the new engine ( it also lifted the front wheel off the ground  ), what i would like to know is has any body got any ideas that would stop the ruber spray from the slics sticking to the paint as we were told to use the cheap degreaser from super cheap and that did get it off but aparently after a while it smuges all the paint and then looks sh*t.

Thanks Hayden

Spray Armourall or similar over the paintwork before arcing up. The rubber will just wipe off.

we have always used tire shine, i think anything siliconed based will do the trick, only problem i've heard is that when you repaint the car in years to come, you will have to rub that part of the car back to bare metal for the paint to stick! cheers

To get it off i use eucalyptus oil on a rag and wipe it off.

becareful what you spray under the guards as it can drip onto your wheels after your burnout in the water ... especially anything that is oil based and dilutes with water ...

i personally just put up with scraping the rubber off later then washing with petrol ..
