Hi There,

I have been trying to get quotes on what it will cost to have the two front seats of my LC GTR restored and so far I have rang all over melbourne and some people in NSW and have been given quotes of anything between $880 - $1400 just for my two front seats.

Can anyone recommend an upholsterer with experience on Toranas and a reasonable price. Or possibly just steer me in the right direction as to how much I should expect to pay, $1400 for two front seats seems a little wrong to me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thankyou !!

~Carlie

Carlie,

Did you try supertrim as i suggested?

I honestly dont think you will get them much cheaper unless you do them yourself.

We will also be selling spring repair kits for the lc's shortly, if

was $880 repairing the springs and foam also?

Try Bill Mayne New St Ringwood. They specialise in veteran vintage and classic work at comparable price but with high quality and service.

When I restored my GTRXU-1, Striped them my self-got the frames and springs powdercoated, then took an old seat squab to the motor trimmer, when I got the squabs back I fitted them myself. Cost around $1800 for the lot ( front and back seat's) :tease:

wish my customers would spend that type of money on a vinyl seat.

$350-400 each should kill it really. there not hard to do.

really depends moot...you probably havent seen the prices of some of the vinyl lately....

your more into leather but some vinyl..wont mention which gtr vinyl is actually about as expensive as leather

so toranaman is about on the money if its the colour im thinking

for black $400 each cant complain...we do them for around $750 per pair in black

But depends if they are fixing/replacing the springs and foam

OUR spring kits are coming !! no more wires in the butt :D

i do more vinyl jobs than leather ones.i just dont like to admit it. :tease:

i'm well aware of prices of different vinyls as i do heaps of boats and rsl club stuff aswell as shitloads of original style cars (alot of xy's for some reason). $6 to about $60 is roughly minimum to maximum prices

anyway, guess i'm gonna have a price rise :spit:

This is an example of Bill Maynes work.

The front seats complete and the rear squab centre panel repaired.

I would suggest you at least talk to them. I think you will be pleasently pleased with their professional and friendly approach to the work.

I have had several friends get their GTR and XU1's done there. Locals to Ringwood, Croydon.

I have Two sets of front seats done by them sitting waiting to go into an XU1 and GTR respectively. You are welcome to inspect those too.

I set myself a high standard of restoration so I do not except less than good quality for my good money.
