yep , its rubber magic in a can.
According to RS the rubbers are "OK , but we sell this stuff in a can. Spray it on and you might get your doors to close..."

the rubbers are a really bad fit. most people who fit them end up with damage on the doors from trying to close them.
be very careful

yep , 12 months and 1 full can on and the doors are still don't close without slamming them.
But what are the alternatives...
I have heard that Mazda RX3 coupe rubbers may work ?

go to your panel beater and ask them what they use on their rubbers

i got some off our mate, put it on the four door, and in about a month the rubbers were perfect, no slamming required.

i have rang around regarding rubbers, there is only so many manufacturers that make them, all of the ones i have contacted said the manufacturer used s**t rubber, thus closing the door is a pain in the... they say in the next 2 weeks they will have that problem fixed as know they are using a different, softer rubber.
and most window rubbers are rarespares..

Seems like these problems still haven't been resolved despite the fact people have been having these problems for years.I'm really dreading fitting the rubbers to my car when that time comes.

How hard can it really be?
Why can't the manufacturer just use the same rubber compound as they use on "todays" cars?

its the same manufacturer that makes them for all infact, there all made in tiiwaaaaannnn, and it all depends on how the rubber comes out of the mould and what kind of day it is when they are producing them!,
ill post up some info that may help all, just abit to type.

I had a lot of trouble with the rare spares door rubbers rubbish.

Had to really slam doors to shut them i found a set of nos door rubbers and the doors shut like new.

If you compare the original rubbers and rare spares rubbers their is a big difference, Next to the pillar the originals are thiner and different shape.

If you want to stuff your doors use the rare spares door rubbers but not many other options left.
