powder coating would be heaps more durable and still pretty cheap, i reckon about $50 a bar max, as a mag whel is only $30-$40.....paint them silver for that modern billet look

If your getting quotes for $300 it could be worth you looking into this option. I'm happy with mine. I am pretty sure when she was out the other week there was some rust marks on it but in the past they have been on top of the chrome and just polished off so when I get around to giving her some love and care I am sure this will be the case again.

If you'll send it anywhere I hear Dubbo electroplaters is the goi'm after chrome.painting the bars on my car would wreck it.

i think the $300 includes them straightening your bumper as well. But im not 100% sure. Ring around and find whats best for you... Not sure what Rares ones set you back, but you might be able to get a discount from Rares... We got 10% for RACV membership today..

i also have given them my gutter moulds,headlight surrounds,metal grill bits,bonnet hinges,door handles et etc to get re-done.
so everything should be like new

The LC tailight surrounds are cast and lots of places won't touch them. I have used Electro Plating Technology in Queanbeyan to do lots of die cast stuff for my '59 FC Holden and the quality is spot on. They even fill pitting and the results are amazing.
The bars on my XU1 came from Vinnies in Melbourne and are great quality.

are you sure. it didnt look like that when i was in the workshop.AFAIK all metal bumper contract all their work out, and I heard that it was to someone in Vic.
