After having a bit of a break on the old girl over the last few months, I have got my enthusiasm back, and want to get to the race track again.

SHe ran a best of 11.51 @117 when it was a sleeper. I took it to Heathcote as soon as it was able to be driven (not totally fininshed) and it ran 11.93 @114 in full treet trim eg mufflers, radial tyres, no hole in the bonnett, pump fuel etc.

Although it ran 11.51 in its old guise, I cannot find the time slip, so I'll go with this one:

So you planning on going through the bonnet at some stage? Would be a shame to ruin the line of those lovely stripes.

I have a 4" cowl scoop ordered from alpha fiberglass. I will put it on my other bonnet and get my mate adam to paint it the same, with the stripes up the scoop.

It is a 6 point chrome moly cage done by:

http://www.independe...rsports.com.au/

It is legal apart from the intrusion bars. I want to remove them and have bolt in ones. Job for the future sometime.

Love the colour of the middle strip, beautiful touch to a beauty of a car.

I'm looking at having some rear-end work done soon, independentmotorsport would obviously be able to handle the tub work, what are they like with diff work from what you know Mark? Talking about shortening and moving shock mount points as well as 31 spline mosers etc. Competitively priced?

Cheers

They dont actually do diffs, They do all chassis mods like tubs, but as for axles etc I suggest supa trik engineering in Dandenong.

Independent Motorsports have great skill in fabrication. Everytime i go there to visit, i am amazed with their work.

With the powerglide and the 4500 converter in the car now, I am anticipating the fluid getting hot, so I fitted a second cooler under the car. It might not get too much air flow, but it will dissipate heat:

I have been on a small shopping spree lately in anticipation for a big summer. I got Alpha fiberglass to make me a cowl scoop:

Posted Image

Rocket supplied me some horn new mufflers. Hooker Aero Chambers, 3" in/out. Should sound great. I am going to get another twin 3" system made before the diff. This time its gonna have a X pipe.

Posted Image

Race Car Engineering in Qld supplied Caltracs for the leaf springs. This wil enable me to adjust the rear end like a 4 link. You can preload the suspension so it launches even and flat. I have to fabricate a new front mount to allow the triangle part to fit in.

Its gonna be a fun summer I reckon. I will enter the Nostalgia Drags at Heathcote in November, then up to the Summernats for a huge time there. I am staying at the Carotel hotel with a bunch of mates. Come say hi!

looking good, how much for the cowl scoop? I am thinking about putting one like it on the LH, but I might get alpha to do a whole glass bonnet with the cowl in it

Alpha are pretty good and helpful. $200 for the cowl scoop, or about $800 for an entire bonnet. email him on :

They spell "alpha" differently in their e-mail, or was that a typo?
