roller rockers arn't interchangeable. myself and rexrob (now racyrabbit i think) tryed this a wile ago and decided its not worth it. they will fit but you have to fit bigger studs...not sure how big my head has 3/8 ones and it needed bigger. 7/16th i think we worked out.

SBC roller rockers will bolt straight onto all Holden 6 Red heads, except for 173 and 202 heads.

fair enough

just saying the ones I TRYED didn't fit onto MY HEAD which is a 149 head with 3/8 studs. to go bigger studs would require takign to much out of the bosses imo. they would be weak.

so, i suppose the only advice i can give is be carefull what you get.

Just so there is no confusion...

Standard SBC rockers have a 3/8" stud. Just like all Holden 6 heads, except for 173 and 202 heads. YT 5007 is the part number for YT roller rockers.

And as lcboi said, there are 7/16" stud size as well.

yeah I bought 3/8 stud and 1.5 ratio roller rocker so I think they will work, I am kind of wondering if GM in the states made an strait 6 engine that was the same as the 186/202 etc anyone know?

thanks again

Blue flame 6 is similar in a lot of ways though much, much bigger...
And very old now.
You will be fine with the parts you bought!

Cheers Greg..

Greg, we were originally talking about the rockers, not the studs.

No problem. It's unusual for you to make a mistake.
