Very nice, just needs the correct front spoiler to finish it off. Certainly have no dramas offloading that one to someone with an LX SLR5000 or SS.

Did those shallow front spoilers also come out on LX 5000 sedans - I always thought it was a SS hatch back thing ...

Very nice Rex !!

Yes, the shallow one piece spoiler was the LX one, both SS and SLR5000 as I said. The 2 piece deeper one was used on LH SLR5000, A9X sedan and hatch, and L34. When you damaged the original one did you keep it or throw it out REX? I'd personally paint up a larger 2 piece one and at least have it there ready. You'll need the number plate bracket then too.

The bracket off memory is just a bit of 1/2" tin plate bend to hold the centre forward...Havent got anything on the race car as Matthews are quite firm.

The bracket I was refering to was to screw the number plate to. The one Rory is talking about goes behind the spoiler to support it, there is one in each corner too.

Thank you for putting up the photos Rory , wish i could do it and thanks to RED and every body else that gave the car compliments , it is very good to get people with knowledge saying something good about car , i got on weekend wheres its proper mags ?, why hasnt it got flares if its a proper slr ? i overheard one telling his mate it should have a holley on it ? but a lot of the older people gave it good remarks , i caught a kid in it attacking every switch and vent and winding up and down the windows , i let some of the kids sit in the drivers seat and started it a few times for them , wish i had a son but after my daughter gets married in Italy in November will have a son in law , he wants a EH so i am after one for him , TREX

REDs right..I have to make one to hold the front number plate on..its sitting in 2 screws at the moment for effect...the rear one I have to relocate under the bumper as the MARLBORO sticker goes right across the number plate holder.

Mate if moneys no object go original although i can still get a couple that are do up ones SLR/S that is , but nothing wrong with a replica at least then you can do what you want , i cant i had to go to total original as thats what it is but if they are beyond restoring to original then go to what extremes that you like , i have nothing against modifieds , mate when i was 17 i had a xy f###$n and you should have seen what i did to that , no for bang for your buck and you will get a lot of your money back go modified , every body likes them , TREX

L31 SLR....SLR5000.
Depends how much you can afford, good original 5000's are pulling towards $50,000 these days. If you build a replica, you could do it for under that price and have a few freedoms to change things to the way you want them.

I agree with what REd has said its makes more sense to do a repilca , any way i have contacted muscle cars now as i didnt get any offers so will see what they reckon it is worth , I was hopeing to get around that but no one thinks that it is worth that , See what Mike reckons tomorrow i am too tired to talk tonight , Thanks to all TREX
