Guys,
Because the headers are too close to the top of the spark plugs on the crate 350 an easy fix would be to get spark plugs with a shorter porcelain section (say 10mm shorter than standard). I have called NGK who couldn't help and Bosch were clueless.
Does anyone know whether such plugs exist - they may be cheaper than modifying the headers!!
Any ideas appreciated

Hi
My brother has a similar problem with a small block Chev motor in an EH. It is only with a couple of cylinders but he (and the original builder) uses/used the correct heat range motor mower plugs. Yep strange but true. "Desparate problems require desparate solutions".

I would have thought you could use different leads with a right angled end like the commo HEI dist leads have at the cap? (Just a guess)

I recall that Accel used to make short style spark plugs, according to this they still may...

Accel plugs are still available, approx $70 for a set of 8. They're between 1/4"-3/8" shorter than std.

Just depends what heat range you want... i encountered same problem with my number 8 sparkplug and there is no sparkplug we found.. then got told to look at motorcycle plugs .. guess what yeap it works but it fouls up .. but it works i can live with changing the plug each 5000km )
