well i just got my car serviced yesterday, and told my mechanic about how the left side is higher than the right. he measured it and there's a 10mm difference on each arch. the front left is the highest followed bu rear left, then front right and then back right.
the springs are sitting correctly. and the front end has been built totally and been put in not long ago(1 month) i just bought some new wheels, 14 x 7's with 205/60/14 on front and 225/60/14 on rear.
does anyone know why the car tilts up on the left?
my thinking cap is overheated, so maybe the torana genius's here could help me out.
thanks
sammy

Have the springs free length and compressed length been measured?

Mine sits slightly higher on the left hand side. I've tried swapping springs side to side and everything, but it still sits low.

I've just given up. Its close enough :fool: :tease:

Switch your rear back springs around. L->R, R->L
If that doesn't make much of a difference then change them with another pair, with the tallest/toughest one on the RHS (drivers side)

Cheers,
Rick.

most of the time you have a left and a right spring, as the right hand side is normally set higher to compensate for the driver, make sure they are in right, otherwise you may need to have your chassis checked for alignment

10 ml..You sound as fussy as i am. If all of the above fails, try to think of a bennefit of the left sitting higher, In this case, it would be that most Australian roads camber off to the left so it might square your car up on these roads?.. Works for me. :D
It'd make a good B.S. session at the pub, tell em' its got an Aussie street race kit. :spoton:

Another thing i've just thought of but you probably have too.. Do you have anything heavy in the boot like a jack and spare wheel etc.?

Matt has a point,
If the car has ever bounced through a big ditch or something at high speed then the chassis can be slightly twisted,....

Cheers,
Rick.

matt im pretty sure its been in accident cos the gaurds are bent, n one of the doors has been replaced. but it never leaned when i bought the car. only until i put the new springs in did i notice the lean on it.
my spare wheel is on the left, and the jack is on the right, i might move that over just to see if that makes any difference.
shud i go to pedders and ask them to hava look? maybe it is that the springs need to be swapped each side. if the chassis is twisted how stuffed up will i be with that? cost wise and fix wise.
thanks heaps guys for ur help, keep it comin n i'll help out with info as much as i can

Your chassis wont be bent............

You said it happened after the springs were changed, my guess is there not sitting exactly right.

Agreed. See your spring guy.
Even at worst, if your chassis was twisted, the cost to repair would not be worth it for such a small amount of difference.
Don't worry, i discovered today my new 9 inch housing is bent, wish i had of seen that before it was shortened and the brackets fitted. :banghead:

Mate check where the top of the springs locate in the engine cross member. I will almost guarantee one of them is not sitting right up inside there.

I had the same problem
