i was thinking of removing the after market type of adjustable thermo fan setup from my car - the type that goes into the top radiator hose and clean up all the ugly wiring by using a gmh/a9x sensor like set up. but dont know if you can still get the original radiator sensor or something else similar that would make it operate in the correct heat range

genuine Holden, (NLA) kicks in at 95 degrees C. I personally don't rely on it and use a switch

I bought a VDO unit that kicks in at 93 (Original is kaput).

I have included the manual override too.

In my car, I fit the original even if it doesn't work so it looks right, but a simple override switch is fitted too.

Fair enough REDTOY.

I am yet to see an original that is still reliable. Apparently they are crap from day one. I want a working sensor as shortly I shall be over the hill and I too will be unreliable. So I would like to think that at least the sensor will save me from an embarrassing boil over.

Cheers
