The tin shield that covers the torque convertor, is a trimatic one the same as a Holden 4 speed ?

I don't know with the V8 sorry, but i know the 6 cylinder one is different from manual to auto.

Yep they are the same, had to get one the other day. The wreakers tried charging me $45 for one 
so I left it on the counter. Then got one off a mate the next day for free
