Hi all,

I purchased a set of CRS drop stub axles but I'm having trouble identifying the correct castellated nut used on the spindle.

It seems to be a metric fine 1.25 pitch but I'm buggered if I can find a nut that size to suit (most nuts in that size are 1.5 metric fine).

It also seems that a M20 maybe too big and a M18 is too small. Imperial 3/4" seems the correct size but the UNF thread doesn't go!

Any ideas???

It's same as factory torana/kingswood whatever.

Exact thread size i don't know, but it would certainly be UNF

Well rather relying on what so called "nut and bolt" specialist have told me (that it's a 1.25mm thread) I decided to measure the pitch thread for myself.

It's a 3/4" spindle with a 20 tpi. It's quite strange because a 3/4" UNF thread is 16 tpi.

Now I'm totally confused?

Looks like that will be the easiest option. Too much of a mission to trace down new ones. Would have been nice to use all new components though.

ive got a set of drop spindles here for torana/hq from crs for a future project. They are to suit commodore discs and calipers so im pretty sure i used the discs/bearing and calipers of a vl ( and castellated nut ) and every thing is sweet.

hope this helps.

cheers julian

Just an update...

Went and saw Kerry Frank (out at Ipswich/Yamanto) and he have me two castellated nuts that were apparently from a Torana. They didn't fit.

Still not convienced, I made a trip out to Milton Performance. Got two nuts from there and they fitted no problems!
