Has anyone had any experience with putting t5 gearboxes into LC or LJ. I am currently racing an Xu1 with 253 HP at the wheels and my advice is that a Supra will not be stong enough, but I dont want to hack the transmission tunnel around too much.

No idea but am doing the same conversion shortly (within 5 years the way things are going). All I can tell you is that gearshift is "close" to original location and the tail shaft spline is the same.

Toy gearbox, and will have to cut the tunnel. A surpa R154 will fit.

Is it a t5 out of a vl, that puts the shifter in the right spot as I think the vn-vs t5 shifter sits further back which might interfere with the h/brake.Or do you just modify the shifter?

I measured mine from the bell housing back to the centre of the gearstick in neutral. VK T5 and the Aussie that I removed. They are both 24 inches give or take an inch.

the VK and VL T5 gearboxes came in the HDT & HSV vehicles were T5Gs. The shifter is in a different spot from the VN variant
