G'day,

At the moment i'm installing the rear flares on my LH, just wanted to do quick sanity check before I drill and cut the guards. I've noticed on some rear flares, height 1 sits about 25mm above the bottom door ridge but mine is right on it. The photo position is the only position that I can find whilst lining up the door split.

Any Advice?

Cheers,
Ollie

Ps. The front part of the kit went on well, Go Wilson fibreglass!

I will have a look to see how detailed the parts books are.
Meanwhile make sure your rear doors dont have intrusion bars inside that may interfer with one bolt hole in particular.
being an LH it probably wont unless the door came from elsewhere.

the higher up you fit the rear flare, the more clearance for the rear tyres you will have, you can go as high as the hip line on the car, that is why you have noticed that some cars have the flare mounted higher

^^ Yeah what he said! ^^

You can choose to mount them where ever you want as long as you are happy! Just make sure that both sides are the same height or distance so the car doesnt look lop sidded from the front or back.

Careful when you cut the piping.

It shrinks.

If you raise that rear flare higher you will also note that the arc changes and fits better.

As an example of high flares mine are mounted on the hip line that I believe Makka mentions.

Not all choose to mount them this high though and I have no idea what the dealers might have considered 'standard' when fitting them.

Cheers,
I personally like them on the low side, so It looks like I will be fitting them as low as possible whilst still able to fit R15/10'' 295/50's. I'll do it this weekend, will send photos when its done.
