That is not underdriven...
Look at the pulleys. Both crank and waterpump are the same size.= 1:1
Diecrest Eng made the drysump mandrel and hub for my race car. FAULTLESS....
Buy DIECREST.
The other mob sells junk.
Both of the other mobs.
Cheers Greg..

I had one on mine a while ago, and belt slap gave me the shits. You would hear like bearing chater noises from it, and it made you nervous about the health of your motor. If you tighten them too much they tear your water pump bearings out! I have put deep groove pulleys on now, I just put up with squeel!

^^ Isnt a standard water pump pulley smaller than a Crank pulley? I would assume that my Water pump spins faster than my crank? ^^

If that is the case, then if they are 1:1 then the waterpump is oversized (Which would make it spin less than standard)

sorry for not being more precise,

i was only ever referring to the crank to alternator ratio.

by the look of both kits, the crank and water pump have the same diameter pulleys which would make them both 1:1, but the die crest crank pulley is smaller than the at racing one, which when you compare it to the alternator pulley would make the alternator underdriven.

I think so anyway... correct me if im wrong.

right, I have just been out and measured the standard v belt pullys on my car and they are approx. as follows:
crank-155mm
water pump-145mm
alternator-70mm

these are measured to the outside of the pulleys

It sounds like I am screwed then when it comes to Ebay.
If I should stay clear of (SSS) which is Atracing and Direct eng.parts
and then Diecrest is underdriven there is nothing left to choose from??
Raceme ...you said you just purchased one ..how did it work out ??
Cheers

I am pretty sure mine is Diecrest and I have not experienced any problems whatsoever.

Although Diecrest put their items up for auction on ebay you can always deal direct with them :)

Cheers

I got one, and have had some problems with it, but not now.
With a crane 286 cam, Ive never had any problems with it, with my old crane 288 cam it unwinds bolts every couple of days. I guess the old cam was savage, and due to the grip of the belt, the poor old 5/15 bolts just could not tolerate it. Yes i used loctite.
It was never over tightened either.
They do look tuff but :D
