That my friend is a collectors item, I'll try to find out roughly how many of them were made and where they were used but the value will be extroadinary. I've only seen one of them once in an antique store in healesville about 5 or more years ago. It was in a glass cabinette and I think (not sure) they priced it with an extra zero, ie $500 or more, I can't remember but I do remember I couldnt afford to buy it, but in saying that, they also had heaps of stuff that was what would be considered as underpriced. The store is no longer in Healesville, dunno what happened to it.

Guys, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is a guy reproducing these, you can get them for $50 (you didn't get ripped off) however, there is a bloke on ebay trying to get big bucks for one now. I bought a reproduction one, it's been aged and all, so looks identical.

Reds right, I have seen them at markets etc, they also have them with coke cola, beer, old cars etc, they still look good and $50 is the normal price.

thanks red, i didnt think i got ripped and was happy to pay the $50, after all it is a genuine item and not a repro. Spose its just like owning a replica A9X, maybe a better condition car but its not quite the real deal hey..

John, These are being sold in Brisbane at swapmeets, markets etc for $85.00. I was told by one seller it was a reproduction. The one on Ebay has the correct colours, but looks too new. I bought mine from an old service station that closed at Milton in Brisbane in 1989.
Pic attached.

Thanks Andrew, is there anyway of telling if its a genuine one or not? REDA9X you say the one on ebay is a repro and from what i can see Andrews one is exact same in colors and font.. Mine has different colors and font, wich one is the repro mine or Andrews, keep in mind Andrew got his almost 2 decades ago..

I have an original sign in my shed, as mentioned the original ones have the correct HDT colors, the only cars that are not in the Marlboro HDT livery- red & white are the monaro and the LC.

Still a great buy for $50, I bought mine for $100 and a couple of differences in colors arn't much to worry about! :spoton:

The guy making them ages them, so it could be a copy, mine looks exactly the same and I know it's a copy.

Hi, I found this one in the 80's & it has the natural aged look.
