Rang a guy at rare spares and said im doing a manual conversion for a Lc/Lj and was after a manual pedal box. He said you dont need one, just attach the clutch pedal to the firewall.
Has anyone heard of this? Do you think it will work as well?

this wont help you much, but when i was asking around for the same thing, a very dodgey mechanic told me he used a brake pedal in reverse? i got no idea what it means, but its a start to your thread,
like i said, this guy is dodgey as, but he is my prefered mechanic.

Not sure about the torana BUT i did the swap in a VK commodore and after all the pain of getting the auto pedal box out .... ...lol... we found all we needed to do was insert the clutch pedal into the old auto pedal box ( all the mounting was there just needed to slip it up and put in the pin ) *and the brake pedal had to be swaped from the wide(auto) to the thin(manual) pedal to fit the clutch pedal in(same deal pull the pin and change)

correct. but you will also need the manual pedal (a because it's not huge and b i think the shaft is diferent lengh??? can't remember that bit.)all the pedal boxes are the same slide the clutch pedal on and put then pin in

rang my dodgey mechanic, he heated up the brake pedal and bent it backwards, trimmed the pad and found rubber to suit.

thats not so bad really....i don't mind a bit of dodge mechanic work like that personaly, i do it from time to time. it's simply taking a part and making it work with somethign else. so long as it works and is safe who the hell cares???? whats so diferent between making a pedal work like you said and putting a 350 chev into a lj??? both things are taking something and making it fit....
