Am wondering if the way to go is wait for a good set of original black ones to come up (i have seen the price they are getting for them)
or
Are the re upholstered ones as good and how much would i be expecting to pay.
I would like as original as possible -- not talking concourse here but not pickable would be nice.
Does someone make such beasties?
Cheers D

Rare Spares $182.84 a pair changeover. I have not seen them so I can not comment on the quality.

Just that i seen a set on e-bay that have been re upholstered (price is going through the roof already) and just got me wondering
In theory it shouldn't cost a great deal to get a set done it was just the originality side of things that i was worried about -- ie stitching and matching the fabric etc
Vinyl paint might be the go for the "original" look i'm chasing

The pair that sold a couple of weeks ago for $200+ were tan sunvisors that had been repainted black with a can of vinyl paint from Supercheap.

That's my point , is there a mob that do a good re upholster job with matching material to original specs ?
Much preferable to an outrageously priced 2nd hand set that someone has sprayed black to make a quick buck
By the way Sean, console woes are over -- thanks again for the help

its funny there was another thread where forumers were saying that there lc-lj visors were hand finished not heat welded...i cant work that out
We would charge around the $60 mark for recovering in the sandpaper grain, $60 per pair..plus post
Anything that needs work we would need to look at closely as sometimes it aint worth it, people used to send all sorts of odds and ends to us ..then saying i want them like new..
...the only part usuable sometimes was the hinge , so yes we changed that to they must be a good pair to start with
