Does anyone know the name or code of the silver which is used on the dash fascia?
Has anyone repainted their dash/ facia with a good result?
We have the old woodgrain style dash in our LX, But would prefer it was silver and as the rest of the interior is getting either replaced or redone, we have decided to just paint it. Have seen the silver decal kits on ebay, but a bit wary and have also searched for the original silver SLR dash on ebay, but they are going for a mint and most still need touching up anyway.

I used Portland Grey metallic. On the can they have written Portland Grey & M 74 - 75. It doesn't quite match the Rare Spares ash tray but I am quite happy with it. Got the paint mixed at the counter at Autobarn in Cooee - if they say they can't do it ask for some-one else. A light sand, masked all the outer edges off the used some plastic primer. Finish was a little rough and I didn't go over it with a clear coat but did rub it with something - I forget what but it was either very fine wet and dry. Then bought a silver paint pen from the news agent to do the outline. I didn't have to do my lower dash though.
I still have (probably) half left in the cupboard but I don't know how it will come out of the can.

Here are 3. The difference between the ash tray and dash isn't as much as the picture shows. I think it is more the angle.
The lower I haven't painted but that's not to say it hasn't been some time before I got the car. And the difference there isn't a lot either.

Doesn't the colour used by the dashboard doctors in SA match the colour?
