Here,s a few pics for starters of my baby. Its a 4'71 lc gtr rally red, built in brizzy and spent its life at surfers paradise. All matching plates with a 2600s. I bought it site unseen on the basis that all the plates were there and matched, panel work etc isnt a major task for me so i wasnt shocked when i first seen it.
The pics are the 1st day i arrived home with it. Its been off the road since '92 for repairs of panel and rust etc but never got finished properly. Ive basically stripped the guards off, inner drivers guard, front apron, rebuilt driver door pillar, rear drivers quarter, rear pass guard lip, both front floors, boot wheel well, sills. Have i missed anything!!!
Up to date everything has been complete except for the rear windscreen lower panel which i'll have finished next week.
When it comes to stuff like this im a really fussy so if it didnt look right after it was welded up i'd do it again ( setting door hinge and pillar i redone 3 times )

I'll get the pics to date ready soon and post them. Kev

Poor little Tory
Mate you have a big job on your hands but im sure you will manage, id love to see the repaired pics, its great to see the before and after.
Thankfully there are people like you who pic up these cars which are seemingly ready for the tip and loveingly restore them, good on ya mate. :spoton: :spoton:

Thanks Bart, we all need some encouragement :spoton:

Here's a mixed bag of pics, the best score was getting a mint lc sl 4dr with only quarter panel damage then disecting it.

My car looks like its been an xu-1 for along time hence the shot of the original guard.

Setting the rear guard lip is difficult i'd rather do a quarter any day.

The floors came up a treat.

The tunnel had a large section cutout once and replaced with sheet iron, still cant figure out what they were doing maybe gearbox repairs!!

Thanks shanegtr, the LHS of the boot floor was a bit of a pain cause i wanted to keep the same pressing so i made a die and hand pressed the 3 concave groove shapes.
